I used to play this game way back in the 1995-97 stage, when the demo came with a Compaq Presario desktop (at a friend's place).
The bugger refused to give me the CD and with it being 5 MB, I couldn't fit it into 4 floppy drives Sad
This was ages ago, when I didn't even own more than 3 floppy disks and they were quite expensive for a school kid Razz

So anyway, I used to often think about that game (it just used to come out of no-where..) and despite my efforts, I never had enough information to find it.

I dunno what happened today, but I started going through the wikipedia chronological list of games.. selected every sci-fi game from 1993 on and I found it 15 links down :DDDD

Anyone else played this game?
I'm just starting to re-learn the game (I played it only when I could go over to my "friend's" house.. ), so if anyone else wants to join in, that would be fun Smile

A copy of the game demo can be found on http://www.galliusiv.com/Gallius_IV/Downloads.html
The full version (without the vids/sound files) = https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/25855891/deadlock.zip

I used to curse when I got stuck in traffic... till I realised I AM traffic.

Mmmh, certainly sounds interesting... but when I start it, for barely a second something pops up probably saying that I need a CD before the program closes again. Is there a way around? Does it run on xp?

... some time later...

Got it, I think.

Check the dropbox link. It should work without the CD...

If you patch it up to 1.31, you get the ability to use alt+click to give group orders/move orders to a stack of your army units, which makes mm easier.

If you like it enough, then there is a torrent out there with only 1 Seed ( Razz ), but I'll seed it as well.
The full version with the videos / sounds is 575 mb. It's a less buggy version and has funny voice clips/taunts.
I'll pm you the link for that.

Played 13 games against the AI and I'm now bored.. anyone interested in playing a multi-player game?

(Edit - Fast production mode)

Awesome.

I've been stuck on game 14 for the past 3 days.. What's your fav race so far?
I like the joat variant - humans.

Also, seems a -f approach works quite well against the AI... wonder how different it's going to be against an actual player Smile
