Have you considered implementing captcha for new accounts?

There is a captcha system in place, but it must be easily cracked. Log out, then click Register and you'll see it.

When will we be heading back to http://starsautohost.org/sahforum/. ?
I was going through some old archives and the links don't work with the change to http://starsautohost.org/sahforum2/.

It's easy to replace the link, but.....

I know... one more small upgraded needed, which will need a style upgrade as well. Also I need to tweek the new user registration process, as over 300 spam accounts were recently created. I've deleted them.

Yea, I noticed the spurt in registrations... Just noticed something more, they all had/have really interesting home pages too in the user profile pages!

Yes, and I'd strongly suggest not going to any of those home pages!

Ok, I've turned on several plugins that come with the forum, and am now using a different captcha than the default, as well as a bot checking service.

Is there a switch/fix to make new posts/threads show with the little arrow? completely threw me when a forum got a lit bulb but the threads had nothing new. Twice.

Hmm, have you set anyone to 'ignore'? If so, then it's possible that the post you cannot see belongs to someone that you've set to ignore.

Wouldn't it still show a post saying " this user's message has been ignored"...?

Ah, it might. I don't have anyone ignored yet, so I don't know.

I have noticed the same. If there is a new thread (a thread which the user has never visited), then the folder icon is red, but there is no little arrow as there is for a thread that has been visited, but has new posts since last visit.

Yes. this. The new thread is there, it's just now marked with a new posts arrow but then forum lightbulb is lit.
