Nope, not working for me either.
I know my minefields.. but I'm a chaff sweeper.
I used to curse when I got stuck in traffic... till I realised I AM traffic.

I didn't find that a cron job is needed.
I did find this option enabled in the settings:
Smart Notification:
Enable 'smart' e-mail notification mechanism that would only notify users if they read previous notification. This prevents filling up of the user's mailbox with notifications if they are not reading them.
I've set the above to disabled, and found a different setting:
All Message Forum Notification:
If enabled, subscribers to a forum will receive notifications about every new message in the forum, rather then just new topics in the forum.
This one was previously disabled, and it is now enabled.
Please let me know if this fixes the issue.

I've been auto-subscribed to a few threads when I recently replied + I have always been subscribed to new threads in certain forums.
I'll let you know when I get an update reply.
Thanks for the trouble-shooting Ron.
edit - Do we need to make any changes to our control panel settings?

Can the update email also have the post contents added?

theene wrote on Fri, 24 March 2017 12:54This has fixed it for me. I tend to type in the URL for SAH myself rather than click the link and I don't tend to view my control panel when I log in... Perhaps that's why.
Thanks, Ron. No more missed games.
That is definitely why it was not working for you. Only by clicking the link could the forum software know that you had actually read the notification it sent out, since the Smart option was enabled at that time. Since you didn't click the link, it thought you had not read the notification and thus would not send you any more to prevent in-box flooding.

I'll see if that option is available.
Ok, that option is now on, but not sure I like it. We'll see how it goes.
The message is sent in HTML, with what that entails in terms of colours and background.
That might be a little much.
Interesting... I would not have thought that it would keep background or colors.
