We had a lot of fun with Dynamic Duos redo, so I am hosting another game. Here are the rules:
Race restrictions, CA and IT are banned, Joat cannot take NAS. You cannot take HE factoryless. This means you cannot have factories worse than the default of 10/10/10 and no GR above 10(20)
All races other than your teammate must be set to enemy. No communication with anyone other than your teammate.
No tech trading with anyone other than your teammate. Only one race per player, you can however submit your allies turn if necessary, like when your ally is on vacation, too busy at work, etc.
Other game settings are as follows:
- Distant players position
- AccBBS
- random events on
- PPS off.
Standard cheat disclaimer, which means that the following cheats are allowed:
- chaff
- split fleet dodge
- merge fleets after gating
- Mine damage dodge
Turns would be MTWTF until 2430 or someone requests a slow down. From there they would be MWF.
Condition of victory, PPS being turned on at 2500 and then a vote. If there is no clear victor, we keep playing until there is a clear victor by vote.
Universe will be medium dense.
We had some discussion about modifying the rules this time around. Please post any suggestions you have. One suggestion was to require everyone to have W expensive. Another suggestion was to require all races have one AR.

I want to play but have no team. to require one AR race in all team is interesting suggestion.

IT is banned because in a team game it would be an obvious choice for one of the team members to take. The idea for the first game originally came because I just finished a game with no rules. So because of this it ended up with large alliances (like 5 or members) with lots of IT and CA races. I wanted to take away the obvious choices for a team game hoping to get more diverse PRT choices from the teams. It seemed to work. In the first two games I have seen all PRT's that were allowed.
The reason for the idea of requiring one team member to take AR is because two of the teams tried an AR in the first game. One of them was taken out early. So even with a teammate AR is still very vulnerable. One way to balance this is to require all teams to have one AR. We aren't necessarily going to require this, it was just an idea. I don't like the idea of banning kill starbase orders as it is a legitimate tactic used against all races, not just AR.

In DD2 team mates where placed next to each other. I assume that will be the case again. Otherwise, initial placement can have too large an impact for certain teams.
