Have you question sometime "What predefined race is the best?" Maybe it will be reason of new game. There are 6 predefined races. Player choose free race and declare it. I hope that all predefined races are equal enough.

Umm, are you playing Stars! or X-COM UFO-1?
Silicanoid can operate max 550 mines at 100% planets with max pop (or 270 at 50% hold, or 130 at 25% hold). Even in a testbed is that low output quite a problem for a +f and a -ISb race. But in a real game, when it will came under an early attack, its puny mineral stock will wanish in two turns of serious shipbuilding, IF there will be any germ at all to build warships. Being a +f and a -ISb, free germanum will likely not be find anywhere for the first 50 or so turns.

I do not want to make competition standard race against modern monsters. Well, I’m understood that these races are not the best. But it is the main limitation of the game. Player can choose any free race from predefined only. Yes, humanoids and IT have better parameters at first. But is it really that others have too few chances?

Ha, there is the host of game who can cheek it. Maybe, he can allow changing this for some races also. If he think this race very weak.
