Okay, that's the game I will start. I can easily start another game if more are interested.
If someone else volunteers to host, I'll play in that too.
# of players: 6
Skill level: Intermediate and above
Ranked: No
Version: 2.6rc4
Autohost: Yes
Turns generated: Tu/Th/Sa morning. Faster if all players are in. Possible reduction to 2 turns per week if the majority of the players wants to.
If you need a pause, just ask the host - please do so at least two days before the deadline! We will pause from Christmas to New Year's Eve.
Host is playing: No
Universe size: Medium Normal, Distant Starting Positions
Starting conditions: ACC BBS
Victory conditions: Last Man standing or consensus
PRTs forbidden: none
There will be a penalty of 200 leftover points for CA (set to defenses) plus they may not take TT. JOAT may not take NAS and must put 100 leftover points to defenses. SD and IT will get a penalty of 100 points set to defenses.
Special Rules:
- no cheats (except chaff and split-fleet dodge - please do not use split-fleet intentionally.)
- all players have to be set to "enemy"
- no alliances, no tech trading, no NAPs, no coordinated attacks
- no communication at all - ingame or outgame
All in all - a simple, aggressive game.
The game intends to start in about two weeks. Send your race files to andreas(at)studnitz.de.

I'm in. ^^ although the penalties seem a bit steep. I'm all for playing another Stars! Game.
Edit: then again, an "intermediate and above" label for skill doesn't really apply to me. I'll wait a few days before I send my race file to see if a better player wants in.

I can do that for you.

I didn't see where we had clumping. Everything else looked right and that one doesn't really matter but I was still surprised by it.
|
Rules don't specify. Obviously I don't care either way - I would have thought that clumping was the most usual setting.
The point of specifying the assumptions was to ensure I did what you were all expecting.

These settings look fine. In a normal density universe I'd waver towards no clumping, but I'm happy either way.
I don't care much if there are any min/max concs or not, but I definately want to know before I submit my race what any upper or lower limits on which starting concs will be, if they are used.
Also, can I suggest we start at daily or 5 weekly gens, until any one person wants to slow to the advertised 3 per week? It's nice to get through the early 'single player style' years nice and quick.
