I have been wondering for some time what the age spread is with Stars players.

I think your poll choices suggest a certain bias in your expectations. Apparently the 25 year olds are the children here Laughing

I must admit though, the votes look just slightly younger than I expected too. I was at university when I first saw the game in a software shop, but I barely managed to sneak into the second category.

I think it is simply yet another example of people getting way too surprised to hear that gamers are not always teenagers full of pimple playing FPS games...

I fit in the 3rd category and I do sometimes play xbox games or computer games with my teenage neighbors and nephews. They don't seem to have any issues playing with an "older" person. I think they like it actually as their fathers don't play any of these types of games. I also think they like to see that as you get older you can keep playing and don't have to give that stuff up.

I have many bonds with my kids, and one of them is we play xbox or computer games together. They are kind of young for Stars (6 and /8), but I think at least one of them will pick up the game when they are older. My 6 year old likes to design ships with me. We come up with some wacky designs. Everyone once in a while I forget to delete those designs and I see them in the next turn of a game Laughing

I'm surprised there aren't more young stars players on here though. It's not that old, and I'd think there were more people who played it as a kid in the 90s that still play.

Gels with the fact that 50%+ were less than 18 when stars came out.

Haven't figured out how to answer the poll. But I'm over 50 and my son is 21. He remembers me playing this game way back when. I lost it sometime ago but he always heard me say it was the best strategy game ever. So, he found this stuff and all, so I could play again. Smile

And he's playing it with me which is just great!

Started this game in my early 20s, stopped
Started again in my mid 20s, stopped
Now checking it out in early 30s, will try to start and teach my wife (we just got married)

This is the most brilliant game ever. Anyone know of other games as fun as Stars! for the modern world?

Sadly I haven't found a game which even come close to STARS!. Otherwise we would not continue to play a game made for Windows 3.11. Wink

My thought to this question is this game requires a lot of grey matter usage. Something that is lacking in the majority of the younger generation. I'm just glad there are some that don't mind using their minds. Very Happy
